Proving that Judd Apatow hasn't cornered the market on starring in his own viral videos, Jason Reitman gets in on the fun with this video of an "interview" he did with a bunch of middle schoolers at the Santa Barbara Film Festival. It's got to be tough out there for Reitman, whose Oscar nomination for Best Director was immediately followed with "Wow, that came out of nowhere." As the kids so astutely note in the interview, Juno is really being seen as all about Diablo Cody and the cast, while Reitman is presumed to have spent his time on the set trying to get the hamburger phone to work. Or, as those sly sixth-graders assume, calling his dad for advice.
Makes you wish all the Oscar nominees had such rock solid senses of humor, right? Can you imagine Daniel Day-Lewis fessing up that he stole John Huston's vocal cords, or, as I've dreamed of for months, Cate Blanchett dueting with John C. Reilly with both of them doing their best Dylan impressions?
